esemplastic

The word "esemplastic," coined by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, means "having the ability to shape diverse elements or concepts into a unified whole."

A worthy goal for collage artists, don't ya think?

  1. OMG! FIONA!! YOU ARE BACK!!! Yay. Hope you are doing okay. We missed you. And I think besides teaching us a NEW word you certainly rose to the challenge of "ESEMPLASTIC" and this week's theme.

  2. Indeed - we missed you! Not come across that word before I must admit. Saw an interesting film about Coleridge on the BBC recently by Julien Temple.

  3. How lovely Fi .. in Dutch we have this saying "I feel like a fish out of water" or "a fish out of land" (means not feeling at home) ... but your fish seems to feel at home surrounded by these beautiful elements like living cells and beautiful flowers.
It's a strong collage and a great title!
