Exquisite Corpses

Here are some of the Exquisite corpses made by Sabine, Lynn and yours truly.
We send them to each other by post and cover up the parts we made, we just leave a sign where to continue, so it's a surprise until the end for all three of us.

Bee Or Not A Bee?

That is the question.

Dinosaurs and People Coexist Only in Books, Movies, Cartoons and Collages

The last dinosaurs, other than birds, died out dramatically about 65 million years ago, while the fossils of our earliest human ancestors are only about 6 million years old.

In this collage: Pteranodon, Allosaurus, Kronosaurus, Pterodactylus, Tylosaurus and Plesiosaurus.

The signs on the wall ....

Not a shadow of a doubt this couple had on their honeymoon travels, but we already saw some    shadow boxing ....

Theme: DANGER!

I don't seem to remember this one...anyway interpret DANGER! in collage form.

Think: threat, hazard, peril, fear, menace, risk, jeopardy or ???

reaching for the void

Hand from a painting by Jean-Michel Basquiat. Dog from a painting by Geoffrey Martin.

I find myself drifting in the direction of just abstract or semi-abstract collages. So my challenge each week will be to acknowledge the theme in that form.

An Old Coot & His Critters

Specifically a Ringtail (or Miner's Cat), a Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo, a Ring-Tailed Lemur, a Banded Palm Civit and a Margay. Oh, what do the neighbors think?

des chats

Mordant tale of cat who eats rat poison from A. B. Frost's "The Fatal Mistake" (1894). Big cat with red collar by Paul Davis (1975). Encounter of brick and black cat from George Herriman's "Krazy Kat." White arm and white cat from Félix Edouard Vallotton's "La Paresse" (1896). Black-&-white cat with man's brown trousers and shoes by Norman Rockwell.

I apologize for being so erratic in my participation in this wonderful blog. My health has not been good. But please don't worry about me. I don't have a dire illness or anything critical,  and I'm still very committed to making collages. It's my legs: I can walk, a little bit, with a cane,  but it's a painful endeavour. On the days when I can't walk at all, I can't get to my studio, and when I'm in lot of pain, I can't concentrate well enough to make art. It's as simple as that.

"They're Watching"

Another tricollage just recently made ... started by me, continued by Sabine and finished by Lynn.
I think the pet has a special role in this story .. I wonder what happens if someone whistles ;))

Soul Mates

A different kind of soul-mates, this is a fraction of a collage made by Sabine, Lynn and me.
3 different languages, 3 different countries, living miles apart from each-other but connected without borders, by imagination. (in a way connected by Kollage Kit!)

Valentines Card 2016

From the archive. I make Hazel one every year - some more elaborate than others.

After Dropping Acid, Alice Listened to Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

Found photograph of a "trippy" looking woman and some references to events within the songs of The Beatles Masterpiece.
The background is antique marbleized paper...I used four different patterns.

Another Groovy One from the Archives...

Boho

Sorry I didn't have time to do a new one...headed out of town for a month or two, so much packing must still occur.  Will check in with you in late July, so please have a lovely summer without me, fellow snippers!

Sergeant Paper's Lovely Arts Club Band

One from the archive to start with.

THEME: 50th ANNIVERSARY of The Summer of Love AND the release of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

Okay fellow groovy fab gear Kollage Kit creators. Get in the spirit of the 50th anniversary of peace and love and counter-culture individuals with flowers in their hair. Or celebrate the 50th anniversary of the release of the immortal Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (May 26, 1967). Did you live through it? Or you can imagine what it was like. Have fun!
