Homage to Schwitters Merz Style

Was fun tearing up an 1864 Peterson's Magazine.
Photographed on my kitchen table, hence the wood border.

  1. Kurt would have loved this one, Angie! I like the line "Plates in advance" - and the colours.

  2. Yeh, I like the "plates in advance," too, especially because at first I glanced out of the corner of my eye, and read it as "please in advance." Another corner-of-my-eye thing (I was looking at a kitten who had just arrived by my side) was that the black-n-white checkerboard pieces look like the collage is a wrapped package and the checks are the ribbon. Which works as a frame—cool! Nice composition... well done, Angie!

    1. Thanks Fi! The black & white checkerboard is actually shiny gold & black (but that doesn't read well in a photo).

    2. Shiny gold is weird that way. It doesn't scan, either, which I find very frustrating. I guess professional photographers know how to light gold and silver, & other shiny stuff, so you can tell better what it looks like in person. 'Might be worth researching on the Web some day.
