Betty DEARLY LOVED her PET Vampire Bat Barney...

...and commissioned a portrait she proudly hung in the living room, baffling her two newest pets (Oriental shorthair cats) who seemed to resemble Barney in a curious way! (Look up the breed...those ears!!)

Mynah Mimic

I did want a Mynah Bird after seeing one on Children’s TV.

One of nature’s mimics, I thought it’d be good for some light-hearted banter.

Joey…long lost pet.

 By the time I was born my mom was sick of bigger pets…my older sister had owned a rabbit and a cat….by the time  I was born mom only agreed to a budgie and the cat and bunny were ancient history…I remember being baffled where they had gone and why couldn’t we go and get them back!

We had  over the years two budgies a green one and a blue/purple one..both called Joey, as mom insisted all budgies were called Joey?!…(despite my aunty having a budgie called Perky.)

Joey was lovely.❣️

Haven't we all had a pet who we have outlived and think about fondly? OR does a beloved pet currently live with you?

P.S. If you are like my husband who, as a child, never had a pet, imagine one you would have loved to have and memorialize it with a portrait!

While some may find a stroll in nature with an occasional stop to smell the roses a "moving" pastime, there is nothing like a session of "air cycling" to get the old blood flowing!
