Glenda's Rocket Gun
Two postcards stuck together to make the background. Images from Life Science books, birthday cards and various other places. Like the bullet from the barrel- like a rat up a drainpipe. Click on image to see in full glory.
Thanks Xtina. Yes, I do show them from time to time. At the moment you can see some at Leicester University's School of Museum Studies until February I think and Marburae gallery in Macclesfield until 22nd December.
Wow--I love it! The long horizontal format works really well. As always, you do a fabulous job of combining bright, mostly primary, colors with black-&-white. And I like what you wrote: like a rat up a drainpipe indeed! You should write something about your collages more often, Michael.
Thanks Fi. I don't usually write much in way of explanation as I like the collages to speak for themselves. I will try in future though if I think it adds something extra that the image can't impart.
Glenda's one determined looking sharpshooter. Reminds me of a carnival shooting range. Even though a still image, has lots and lots of implied motion due to all those colorful circles. Great execution!
Beautiful! Do you ever show / sell these in exhibitions? I'd love to see a bunch of them together.

ReplyDeleteBloody cold here, too, but like I said, your work keeps me warm.
ReplyDeleteThanks Norman - much appreciated!
ReplyDeleteLovely, W, and I like the contrast between the chilly colors on the left and the hot colors on the right. Nice!
