All About Eve

That's Laura Ziegler's bronze entitled "Eve", 1958.  Eve has just been banished from The Garden of Eden and therefore covered her nakedness with a dress featuring a photograph by New York photographer/filmmaker Tom Davenport (clipped from a 1967 photography magazine). Pasted down on Jean Dubuffet's ink drawing entitled "Site á la Rose", 1960.

  1. Eve will never change her mind - you gave her a meaningful dress.

  2. A fantastic collage Angie!
She looks so vulnerable and I also love the background.

  3. Ahhh...Dubuffet. Many people credit him with having coined the French word "collage." He was a big influence on Keitn Haring, especially in his ability to cover large areas with ipatterns that both do and do not repeat. A 1967 photography mag, huh? Wow—I envy your resources. It's as if Eve carries Adam, also forced to don clothes, inside of her. Inspired!

    1. I meant "Keith Haring" and "patterns." When in the heck are they going to fix this comment feature so we can edit our comments?!

    2. Thanks Fi, for your insight into this piece. You cannot believe all the paper I have collected over the years. I have it pretty much categorized so I can find topics easily but I never ever know what is going to end up making it into a collage. I hear you about editing comments. Frustrating.
