IRISH EYES ARE SMILING -- Even if you are "on the wagon" (like me) you can certainly enjoy...

 ...a cup of coffee or tea at a fine DubPub!

And in the case of Neary's -- one of their smoked salmon sandwiches.

The crisps are much tastier than this collage. A bit thin though. We had some lovely meals in Ireland. Stand outs were the pizzas that Archie and Meriel made - the sea food chowder in the barn resturant - the fish and chips in the pub high on a hill overlooking Dublin Bay - nothing more Irish than the host who's name was Paddy's son also Paddy giving the lady of the party a bag of his home grown potatoes! Also must mention the salmon in pesto crust that Meriel's Mom cooked us on the first evening there. Yum!

Unusual Circus Acts - The Fabulous Turban Brothers

The world renowned brothers act consisted of two of them parachuting from a small plane piloted by the older brother Wolfgang - over the big top and landing through a hole just big enough for them to enter the circus ring as the finale to the show. The aim was to land on a large ceramic pot filled with giant lugs and snails. This death defying act was abandoned in 1934 when Klaus, the youngest brother, landed on the audience and several were hospitalised. Two of the brothers were chased several miles until they were arrested by police and locked up for their own safety. Freed on bail they vanished and were never seen again.
