Johannes Vermeer (1632-1675) has painted the famous artwork "Girl with a pearl earring". I used her face in this collage and gave her a modern look. To be honest, Vermeer is not my favourite artist, but I love his work and it is easy for me to find second hand books about him. He lived in Delft, a small Dutch town, not far away from my hometown The Hague.
Clever, Ka!! Love her new updated "Mod" look! I hear you about using certain 2nd hand books...I have a lot of Paul Klee books that seem to wind up in my local charity shop. But I don't use them a lot. Many make good backgrounds.
ReplyDeleteFine tribute. The modern neo-goth look and scene really suits Vermeer.
ReplyDeleteYou said it best, Ron ... the "look" & "scene"!
