Sir Peelalot demonstrates a nobleman's favorite way with oranges and (next) lemons

Joseph Hyacinthe François de Paule de Rigaud, comte de Vaudreuil was a Saint Dominican French nobleman at the court of King Louis XVI. He was the alleged lover of Gabrielle de Polastron, duchesse de Polignac, the favourite of Marie Antoinette and over whom he exerted a powerful influence. (Painting by Germain Drouais, 1758.)

  3. Thanks both. I realized, after I listened to the nursery rhyme your theme is based on, that beheading is a part of it. YIKES! And when I was looking for an image to place my huge fruit cutouts on I happened to grab a book of costumes through the ages and I thought he look appealing (no pun intended) and then I found information on the painting. After I swiped the info to paste below the collage I realized I'd picked a portrait of someone who was the favorite of someone who actually was beheaded!!
