Thank you Angie, I did some research on the gothic theme and was glad to find the American Gothic couple in an art book. There are really many versions of this painting to be found on the internet!
I like your hallway: is that Gothic-style stonework overhead? And what a great idea to have a dresscode that people can interpret in so many different ways! Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley would fit in at that party, wouldn't she? Fun use of colors vs. B&W, Jo!
Well to me the hallway looks gothic that's why I used it, it's from a book about castles. You're right about Mary., for a moment I thought of putting in your 'icon' the bride of Frankenstein but I couldn't find the right image ;))
