One Source -- GOODWOOD Magazine

When I visited my London family last Spring this publication was in the UNITED AIRLINES lounge and I happily took it home for collage inspiration, Well, here is what I've done with it! I photographed front and back covers. In case you do not know this publication, here is a blurb about GOODWOOD I found online:

Goodwood Magazine is a publication that covers the Goodwood Estate, which includes the Goodwood Circuit, the Festival of Speed, and horse racing. The magazine covers a wide range of topics, including fashion, art, design, food, drink, and country life.

One source..Northwich Guardian..babies galore!

Thank you for all the great themes….I hope we can inspire with our choices the next 2months.

One Source.............................Miss Duchamp Goes To Pinewood

I used this old children's film book "The Boys And Girls Cinema Clubs Annual" (1948) to gather all the collage elements together.

THEME: Collage made from only one source

I think we have had this challenge before?

Make a collage using only one source, i.e. one magazine, book or catalogue, one travel brochure or comic book ... you get the idea. And mix it up real good! Create an unexpected image that was never meant to happen ... until now!

And as I have been picking themes for the past two months I think I will pass the job on to someone else. Thanks for all the great collages. I hope you had as much fun creating as I did thinking up what to create!

SHOPPING

The latest craze -- buy a corset and get a cockatoo!
Or a cockatiel
She looks like she really cannot decide which.

Shopping

I think I need some new collage material..really dredging the depths with this one…

I translated the German.

“If you want a piece of Bubbi meat , it’s fine, Join us here, SHINE.”

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Frogs don’t need to go shopping.

shopping: Haggis Shopping on a Windy Day.

As I collage, Storm Éowyn has arrived in Central Scotland

(Winds predicted to be as high as 100mph).

Tomorrow is also the annual Robert Burns Night celebration when Haggis is the traditional meal.

THEME: Shopping

A favorite pastime of mine, shopping! Be it WINDOW shopping, ONLINE shopping and even CATALOG shopping (I still enjoy getting some of those in the post)! Do I always buy? No. Sometimes I think browsing is just as much fun as buying!

Fish Shoes

I really couldn’t find any pictures of shoes…so I wondered what else you could wear on your feet…

And the obvious first answer was FISH…

SHOES -- Warhol elevated the art of advertising footwear

Before he was a global icon, Andy Warhol began his carer in 1950s New York City as a commercial artist and illustrator. His intricately drawn shoes for I. Miller were sometimes accompanied by playful hand-lettered captions.

THEME: Shoes

I heard that fab 1960s hit by Nancy Sinatra -- "These boots are made for walking ... " and thought it was time for a theme I think we've had before FOOTWEAR. Have fun letting your creativity "run away"!

fave-thing-to-eat: Lost in The Supermarket

Hard to pick a fave food but going to the Supermarket is a favourite venture (if it's not too busy, of course...)

My Favorite Thing to Eat -- Daily 3 pm coffee and cookie break

I always learn something new making collages for our challenges. So, in this case I found my favorite cookie (chocolate chip) and a nice steaming cup of coffee. But how to present? I used an early Greek sculpture and noticed the rod sticking out of her head -- perfect for representing thoughts of that cookie! Here is what I found on the internet about "basket carriers" in ancient Greece:

Canephorae were young, unmarried women in ancient Greece who carried baskets of sacred objects on their heads during religious festivals. The word canephorae comes from the Greek word kanēphoroi, which means "basket carriers".

P.S. Her expression is described as a smile revealing her bliss and that is exactly how I feel when I am eating my favorite thing.

My Favourite Things To Eat.....................Don't Play With Your Food!

“My Favourite Things to Eat”

I like a lot of different foods. (Which I can’t find any images of for collaging)

But if I see an advert for cornflakes I get a terrible urge to eat a bowl of cornflakes with cold milk and a sprinkle of sugar…but as we never buy cornflakes that rarely happens…the power of adverts…

I did once make some cornflake spin dryers…they never caught on…

THEME: My favorite thing to eat!

Don't we all have our very own "comfort" food? Something we turn to when we want that special snack or delectable dessert or our favorite entree. I know I do. What is yours? Have fun making a tasty collage that will make your mouth water.

Hygge or Cosagach

Winter is great to sit on a comfy chair by the fire or  in candle light and do some knitting or sewing.

The Danish call it Hygge.   Taking time to get comfy in low light and warmth….winter is hard enough so be kind to yourself and snuggle down…a lit candle is a must.

COPING with WINTER -- Dreaming of Springtime

Right about now I start thinking about bulbs I planted in October as well as my perennial beds that are buried under snow and/or frozen ground.  Dreaming of flowers I will soon see make me smile.

THEME: Coping with Winter

Winter is definitely upon us in Chicago.

We just had a lovely spell of 50 ° F (10 ° C) days with much needed rain but now the "jet stream" is cruelly bringing below freezing temperatures our way. This is when I start to think about getting through the next couple of months.

Let's create a collage about coping with this time of year!
