THEME: The Birds and the Bees

The temperature is rising in the Netherlands. This theme seems suitable for summertime. Interpret it any way you like..

Sun or Moon - Creatures of the Dark

On the foreground creatures associated with evil and bad omens. (Collected for the theme Superstitions.) On the background Stonehenge, the prehistoric megalithic structure in England, that is aligned towards the sunrise on the summer solstice and sunset on the winter solstice.

Sun or Moon - Moonstruck

The man with the beard is Galileo Galilei (1564 - 1642), the famous Italian astronomer, physicist and engineer. He build an improved telescope and was the first person who observed the lunar craters.  In 1633 the roman inquisition sentenced him to lifelong house arrest for "heresy", for holding the belief that the earth revolves around the sun. It took the catholic church more than 300 years to declare Galilei was right.

SUN or MOON -- this involves BOTH!

Best seat in the house to watch the eclipse of the moon which, of course, is caused by the SUN casting the earth's shadow on the MOON.

SUN or MOON -- "Ascension"

I am currently working on a collage for this theme, but since everyone is posting such great pieces I thought I would go back into my archives. This collage was made 16 years ago! It's always been a favorite of mine,
