A dear friend of mine recently died. He was/is my best friend, in fact—always will be. So I'm in the throes of it.
Background is hand-marbled paper from India. Hydra by Albertus Seba (1665-1736).
What's old-fashioned about this? The seven-headed hydra is a very old-fashioned monster.
Very solemn, Fi, and beautifully strange. I love Seba's illustrations, used them a number of times, so brava!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your friend. Touching collage at a difficult time.
ReplyDeleteYes, sorry about your recent loss Fi. This is a nice tribute.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry for your loss Fi. Beautiful tribute. The shape of the central blackness perfectly represents the void that cannot be filled.
ReplyDeleteThanks to you all for your kind words. I had not thought of this simple collage as a tribute, for my friend's wisdom and generosity and moral character are deserving of something more complex. But he loved my collages, so it's nice to have something "up" for him to perceive from the Otherworld.
