Strong Yet Delicate

So I learned a new word...GUERIDON.  That is the name of the table this woman is sitting on.  As Wikipedia states:

A guéridon is a small, often circular-top, table supported by one or more columns, or sculptural human or mythological figures. This kind of furniture originated in France towards the middle of the 17th century. The supports for early guéridons were often modeled on African, ancient Egyptian or ancient Greek human figures (inspired by caryatids).

This particular gueridon is from a vintage book of French furniture which states this piece is "Epoque De Louis XIV".

  1. It seems that this lady should do her exercices next time only with her left arm ;)
Nice collage in colors and images, Angie.

    1. Thanks Sabine! I've been waiting to cut up that old book of French furniture that I picked up at a used book sale!

  2. Love the figures round the table! I don't know who or which is stronger, the girl or the table ;))

    1. After I put the piece together I realized the little mythological figures holding up the table look mighty strong (they would have to be if that is a marble top!)

  3. That table needs to be strong! She could do some damage with that arm of hers!
