Yes! The book cover is very cool. And this is a fascinating concept—the idea of the raptor with his claws in an eye. That's how hard crying feels to me sometimes, like my eyes are been pricked by something sharp that has its clutches on my head; but I've never imagined it as a bird. I was doing a lot of hard crying a year ago, because my two three-year-old cats, whom I loved SO much, died suddenly and unexpectedly, one in late October, the other in early December. My husband and I both have been going through a big "anniversary reaction" over those deaths.
In case you didn't understand what I meant by an "anniversary reaction," Sabine: that's where your feelings get re-activated on the anniversary of when something bad happened—like one year later, in our case.
