ATOMIC GARDENING - Sir John Betjemen's Rocket

From the archives. "How long it flew, how straight it flew, It cleared the leafy gardens And soaring disappeared from view Beyond Windsor , Brent and Morden A glorious , whizzing rocket now That's on it's way to Slough"

  1. Okay, so first I looked up said Sir Betjeman:

Sir John Betjeman CBE was an English poet, writer, and broadcaster who described himself in Who's Who as a "poet and hack". He was Poet Laureate of the United Kingdom from 1972 until his death. He was a founding member of the Victorian Society and a passionate defender of Victorian architecture.

    Love it!

Second, I love this image. Good one, Michael.
