I love this image and the comments. I remember the good old days of "party lines" -- here in the 1950s -- and when I got older I wondered if switchboard operators listened in on conversations. Did you have "party lines" in the UK? (One telephone line that would be shared with another telephone number, so if you picked up the phone you might hear another conversation going on and if you lifted the phone gently enough I believe you could listen in for as long as you wished!)
Hazel, you are the champion with the most unexpected requests! I like "Run around and look excited" the most. A good advice to bluff ourselves through the boredom of social distancing. ;)

ReplyDeleteWe never had a party line but sometimes lines got crossed and we could hear conversations - not sure who they were!
DeleteSpeech bubbles are very useful at times. A lot of fun can be had with scissors and an old copy of the Beano or Dandy!

I hope you are running around and looking excited?
DeleteGreat fun. "Don't Call Us" - the mantra of the nuisance callers.
ReplyDeletewe have had less of those calls since we got our new phone...not sure how it vets them or just chance.
