23rd September . The day of the Light Bulb.

 As you are all aware today is the day for presenting the lightbulb..which only happens once every 10 years. Similar to Easter, light bulbs are formed in chocolate and children have to search the car parks and underpasses for light bulbs hidden by the electric fairy. This is to celebrate the historic switching on of the grand filament of  7 Watts.

Or just another excuse for me to put my light bulb catalogues to good use…

 I put these collages together some time ago but never put them online anywhere.

I was raised Catholic and my mom had many religious photos placed around the house. She also had a lot of recipe booklets (now vintage) that had colorful photos of food that I liked to thumb through. I collect vintage postcards and once did a series of collages that involved backgrounds made from several unrelated postcards. This was the start of a food related series that I did not continue, I have a couple more I can post.
