Whoa...okay so I looked up the definition of "Trad Dad". Did not know the term.
A "Trad Dad" can refer to either a type of rock climber who enjoys long, classic routes and mentors others, or a modern patriarchal father characterized by strict, no-nonsense parenting focused on teaching survival skills and discipline rather than friendship. The term has gained popular usage, especially after Bill Maher used it to advocate for a return to traditional fatherhood.
Dad establishing his alignment -- is that Jerry Mahoney's head? (looks like an example of tough love to me!) -- and the orchestra conductor not only leading the music, he is juggling (!) -- and of course the gents saving the life of a fellow hiker ... I see that these men are all examples of real TRAD DAD spirit!
Thanks Angie. A bit of an accident I tuned into “Trad Dad” US style. Something new I've learned. Although, from what you explained it does strangely fit.
All a bit random, I just plucked a title out the air because there was a dance band in the picture. As Michael said, “It’s Trad Dad!” was a music film inspired by a British revival in traditional jazz which boomed then busted when the Fab 4 arrived.
Thanks also Angie as I looked up Jerry Mahoney and it led me to Paul Winchell’s website. Such an interesting life…….(my little head guy is Archie Andrews, BBC radio vent doll).
Totally bonkers! Poor old Archie Andrews has lost his head! Its Trad Dad was a terrible film with popstars and jazzers from the early 60's before the Beatles and Stones came along to stir things up a bit! Its a bizarre mix for sure!
Cheers Michael. Aye, it looks like Archie's heading down the fairway. "Educating Archie" was such an influential show - amazing the amount of future stars who got a start on his programme.
