"Dear Pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling Your ring?" Said the Piggy, "I will."

  1. The line "Dear Pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling your ring?" comes from the famous nonsense poem "The Owl and the Pussy-Cat" by Edward Lear, published in 1872.

    In this third stanza of the poem, the Owl and the Pussy-Cat ask the Piggy-wig to sell them the ring off his nose for one shilling so they can get married. The Pig agrees, and a turkey marries them the very next day.
    Okay, I NEVER knew the entire poem and this is all news to me! A PIG and a TURKEY?!
