"I eat books"
A lot of people use food metaphors about their reading, but I knew a gal once who gave that notion an interesting twist. She was rail-thin, and people used to ask her how she managed to stay so skinny. Her answer: "I eat books."
Hmmm...cookbooks smell very nice, but when it comes to actually ingesting the words, I prefer essays: the good ones have chewy sentences and rich, evocative ideas.
Nice idea - top marks!
ReplyDeleteGreat fun Fi.
ReplyDeleteI've always found cookbooks taste the best.

ReplyDeleteAnd I prefer the dark salty tang of a good scandinavian mystery...nice one, Fi!
ReplyDeleteAt least she got lots of fibre. Great collage Fi!
ReplyDeleteGreat collage, great comment that sparked it! Wish I was thin enough to use that line. Ha ha.
