With the Arrival of the Asian Fishing Cat, the Quiet Hamlet Was Disturbed

This happens to be Wasdale Head, Cumberland.  The lake here is the deepest in England.  The hamlet will never be the same.

  2. So peaceful, so quaint, so lethal! Lovely piece, CC, makes me want to visit Wasdale Head (armed mightily against the deadly asian fishing cat, of course...)

  5. Thanks everyone. I happened to pick up a discarded children's book on Mammals recently and this was one of the prize illustrations in it! The big cat was pictured in the brush so I had to photocopy some of it's fur pattern to erase areas of the legs that had grass illustrations obscuring the fur. Kind of like collaging the collage!
