I'm fixing a hole where the rain gets in
And stops my mind from wandering
Where it will go...
Background: A painting by Sir Hubert von Herkomer (1849-1914) "The Itinerant". Woman with the hole needing fixing: A painting by surrealist Paul Nash (1899-1946) "Margaret Nash" (the artist's wife) 1919. The photograph: Aimee Semple McPherson (1890-1944) an evangelist and faith healer.
Very striking, CC, love the imagery, love the use of the Aimee Semple-McPherson image (looks great and imparts a nice symbolism, too), lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks ever so much! I had the background, I had the wife of Paul Nash with a hole in her head but I could not figure out how to "fix" that hole and then I opened a book and there was Aimee! (She was exactly the right size for the collage too.) Happy find.
