Looming Large in Patsy's Recurring Rural Nightmare Was the Image of Her Friend Betty Who Was Beheaded by a Freak Accident With a Thresher on Her Uncle's Farm
Man...that would be a NIGHTMARE!
Peaceful rural scene is an end-paper from a vintage American Heritage History of the United States. Sleeping beauty is clipped from a vintage magazine ad for blankets. And "Betty" is from an ad in a 1950 copy of GRAPHIS 31 - An International Journal for Graphic & Applied Art.

Love the colors in this one, Angie, and I believe this is the first time I've seen the words "thresher" and "beheaded" in a collage title...pretty fab!
ReplyDeleteWhoa—fantastic concept, well-executed! Being a splatter fan, I wish you had made the beheaded head look a little more....well, beheaded. =laugh=
ReplyDeleteI love it and don't mind the lack of splatter :)
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone. I debated about splatter and decided to let everyone's imagination imagine that!
