Putting Your Money Where Your Mouth Is

Page from an antique medical journal.  I had a miniature pack of "pretend" US currency (only $20s) that I placed in their mouths.  Simple, but fun?

money is corruption

Except for the background, which is from Rossi Papers, all the images are cut out from stickers. Credits: man in socks (Chromatics Graphic Force), flag (DELME), slave-consume (mnwrks/Via Grafika), shield (Flavian 'Mambo' Demarigny), snake oil (BSPEK), beetles (A Prince), man in green (Jeff Jank).

My husband and I are being screwed by the federal government, so I don't feel too kindly toward money these days.

Money Laundering

I can't find any clippings of money so uploading this old collage from the Scrapiteria days for now. Hopefully will find something appropriate soon.

One American Dollar

American currency is so boring.  So in an effort to change that, I have defaced some federal currency.  Shh, don't tell the feds...

Theme of the Week: Money

"The best things in life are free/
But you can keep them for the birds and bees/
Now give me money/
That's what I want/
That's what I want, yeah"

So sang Barrett Strong in 1959 and a bunch of lads in Liverpool were listening in their manager's shop and decided to make the song part of their act.

I was going to go for a Halloween theme this week but then decided to
pick 'Money' instead as it's far more scary these days especially when the bills come in!
So it's Cash, Moolah, Greenbacks, Bread, Dough, Loot etc……all the way to the bank!

And it's goodnight from me and the October themes - thanks for all the great collages over the last month.

Psycho - delia

Not sure what's going on here but Norman looks suitably scared!

screeching violins

Yes, that is really a photo of the shower head from "Psycho." Thanks to Michael for the title. Say, I think decapitation would make a good theme.

Hitchcock!

Combining last week's theme with this week's (I had a leftover monkey), we arrive at that little known suspense classic...Monkey By Northwest.

Theme of the Week: Hitchcock

Good Evening. The Master of Suspense Sir Alfred is the inspiration for this week's collages. Anything Hitch related: Movie titles, actors, characters or lines from his films. Cameo appearances optional. Good Night.

Jenny's Greatest Pleasure Was Taunting, With Her Favorite Toy, a Howler Monkey Who Lived In the Backwater of Chichester Harbor

I don't know where this one came from!  Ha Ha...Sock Monkey is a photo from a book on dolls and toys, Jenny is a "found" photograph, and the Howler Monkey is an illustration from a book on primates.  The lovely setting is from one of my favorite books to use for collage and is a view of "The Crown and Anchor Inn" Dell Quay, Sussex.

After Many Years Performing As a Circus Team, Madamoiselle Cha-U-Kao and Her Gorilla Started to Resemble Each Other

Don't you think the smile is the same? : )

Lithograph entitled "The Seated Clownesse" or "La Clownesse Looks Around, Madamoiselle Cha-U-Kao" 1896 by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901).  Gorilla is an illustration from a book on primates.

Wanting The Monkey To Let Go

This is a very personal collage.  I have recently had a diagnosis of a form of non-invasive breast cancer that if left untreated would turn invasive down the road.  Since I am a 9 year survivor of an invasive cancer in the opposite breast I have scheduled to have a bi-lateral mastectomy.  I want the monkey on my back to GO AWAY!!

Monkey is an illustration from a book on primates.  The woman is a lithograph by Edvard Munch (1863-1944) entitled "Sin" 1902.

Theme of the Week: Monkey Business!

Hey! Hey! It's the Monkeys week. Go ape! Make a monkey of a collage.
Primates galore. Don't tire of Monkeying around.

Out Of This World! And One Year Old As Well!

Happy Birthday fellow Kollage Kitters!

Background image is "Earthrise" - the view visible to the crew of Apollo 10 in May 1969 as they orbited the moon 70 miles above the surface.  The pretty lady in a dressing gown is from "Woman With a Parrot" by Edouard Manet (1832-1883) and Oscar Wilde is a British Information Services Photo.

Kollage Kit Whoopee!

K.K. No. 1

Happy Birthday to us! Looking forward to another creative year!

This week's theme: One

One announces a 1st Birthday in this here first post of my October tenure.
Checking the archives, it's one year on from Michael's initial post to this blog and hundreds of collages later, I think we should celebrate.

So collages based around the Number One is this week's main theme
with any birthday/anniversary jollification allowed in as well if you wish.

Many Happy Returns!

Pumpkin Island

Part of a larger archipeligo of a dozen or so scary islands, morbid reefs and spooky atolls that make up Halloweenland.
