Hi everyone!

Hi everyone!

My name is Maya and I am an artist living and working in London,UK. I am a surrealistic painter and collage artist, which means that I use real objects and put them into unusual places in order to create new "reality". I am 24 years old and I have been creating art for 20 years, I went to an Art Academy and done various art classes.

With my collages I mainly try to explore the issues that we face, as human beings in our modern society. I use different magazines, books and vintage newspaper in order to create them. I use both current issues as well as old ones starting from 1941 in order to show that some of the issues that we were facing back then we still face today.

I get my inspiration from everywhere, it just comes like a breeze.. What mostly inspires me are my life experiences and just generally other people and their experiences, as well as other artists.

Here are some examples of my art collages:

Woman in love

Family Secrets

Untitled 2

To find out more about me and see more of my art you can visit my blog: Artisticsideoflife.wordpress.com

I am so excited to be part of this blog and I can't wait to post my weekly collages in response to a theme.

All the best,
Maya
