as free as a bird
The one thing I'll say about this now is that there's only one rubber stamp image: the brown triskele overlapping one of the skulls at the bottom. Other than that, this is 100% collage.
But I'll be happy to answer questions about it. =grin=
This is just remarkable and a real ambitious effort! I always wonder about the sizes of the collages we post and maybe we should include that when we post?
I agree, Maartje! The title is actually ironic--a joke about how the bird isn't very free at all. This collage arose from the way that recently I've been feeling rather trapped by the big house-decluttering project that I portrayed in my "springtime thermodyamics" collage. Why is it that you have to make what looks like a huge mess, in order to eventually reduce the mess in a space? It's always the case for me, at least...
Holy cow, lady, this is pretty great! i'm especially liking the spiky tv's featuring Guernica, and I'm glad to hear the title was selected with tongue firmly planted in cheek..."free" is the LAST feeling one gets from your wonderfully intricate piece!
There's a lot of things going on here and a lot to see..
ReplyDeleteLike a mandala started in the middle I guess? I love it Fi, what are the seizes of this one?
Thanks, Jo! I'm afraid I don't know what you mean by "seizes." Do you mean "sources"?
DeleteI mean how big is it.
DeleteIt's 8" by 10.5", or about 20 x 27 cm.
DeleteThanks Fi, must be fun to make a 'busy' collage.

DeleteFantastic intricate work Fi.
ReplyDeleteI agree with with Josephine - reminds me on a mandala! I especially like all the "brains" on the bottom!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, y'all!
