August 6, 1945, 8:16 AM

From my work-in-progress pile.  On that date, of course, we Americans became the first and only nation to drop an atomic bomb on a city full of people.  The bomb was nicknamed "Little Boy." This will eventually be part of a scrapbook style artist's book I'm making for my daughters about how it was for my generation, growing up nuclear in the shadow of the bomb.

  2. Very poignant collage. Such a horrific piece of history.

  3. This is moving and complex: I like the way the butterflies/moths start, near the boy, with a few that are blue and orange, but as the "flock" expands, they are grey and black, like messengers of death. Also the color in the boy's shirt and toy, surrounded by a kind of wasteland—again, in black and grey, the colors of cinder and ashes.

  4. Lovely work. The colourful swarm of butterflies against the grey devastation is very touching.
