  2. Howdy! I'm gonna try to come back to commenting, as much as I'm able, because I want y'all to know that I do exist. I just can't make collages—not yet. What's happened to me: late last year and in the winter and spring I suffered a devastating metabolic disease affecting all the muscles of the arms and legs. My arms and hands are in pretty good shape, thank the Goddess, but my legs are severely damaged. I'm bedridden (futon-ridden) and get about, where I can in our house, which is not even the whole downstairs because of furniture and stuff. I have done exercises and physical therapy for months to get to the point where...

    1. (cont.) I can stand (very briefly) and walk (poorly) with handholds—like a rock climber but horizontal. I can't drive or (most annoyingly) climb stairs. My whole collage studio is upstairs! And we don't have the room (too many books) to move any of it downstairs. So for the time being, it's out of reach. But with patience and persistence (and hope—gotta have hope) I will get my function back.
