I enjoyed this theme more than I thought I would…
Hopefully a few double takes in this collage…
Any collages based around “Old” - antiques, fashion, old timers, music etc… welcome.
Thanks to Stuart Davis (1892-1964) for that groovy background:
Study for "Combination Concrete" No. 1, 1956
I have a favorite book I use a lot in my collage work and that is where the architectural details and shadows are from. My good friend JUST sent me a 1989 copy of DETAILS magazine and I included a photograph by Marcus Leatherdale (1952-2022) that appeared in the magazine.
"MISPER" is my favorite slang used in the British crime shows we love to watch and "COLD CASE" counts for jargon. So this is a double-header!
I usually struggle with a free for all theme, but whilst clearing our friends house I collected this selection of ephemera from one box…so here it is….with added Dr Who monster.

Sirius is nicknamed the "Dog Star" because it is a part of the constellation "Canis Major" which is Latin for "the greater dog." The expression "dog days" refers to the period from July through August, traditionally the very hottest days of the year. The Romans referred to this period as "dies caniculares" or "days of the dog star," which was eventually translated as just "dog days."
My collage was initially the children cut from a primer with their dogs juxtaposed on a painting of a summer day. It then evolved into this!
Although the bright star pictured is not Sirius (I have a lot of books, but sometimes you just can't find the correct image) the star the child is pointing to is standing in for the "Dog Star".
