Francis Grose (1731-1791) described the castle as a romantic ruin:
"This venerable structure, whose mouldering towers and rugged walls ...
afford at once a most picturesque subject for the pencil ... "

DeleteAh! We are lucky to have many mouldering castles and ruins but only one Twiggy. I like the giant Twiggy ready to repell invaders!
