Albert hoped he would be able to hear the trees growing when he set up his hearing trumpets in the forest.
Instead the sound of the birds swearing at each other deafened him….”get off my branch you b*stard” he heard them screeching at each other…
(I am convince most bird song is territorial and they are basically saying..”get orf my land” 😁)
Dear Hazel! At first I thought, Nah...trees don't growl...but then I GOOGLED it and OMG this must be Albert's YouTube channel:

I agree with birdsong theory. A robin had been singing his lungs out in a nearby tree at around 3:30 am for the past couple of months and it must be a call to claim his space in the "hood" (by the way my backyard is very bird friendly with a clean bath and well watered grass for the robins to hunt for food and I can understand why he's doing so)!

DeleteI just sent you the same link.. Sorry .. We had an artist visit at uni who used contact microphones on plants and in ponds etc and the noises were amazing..
DeleteHazel, I had NEVER heard of this before (listening to the Sound of Plants!) and I am so happy you referenced it in your collage.
DeleteThat robin knows when he is on to a good thing...X..
ReplyDeleteYes!
Delete"I talk to the trees - that's why they locked me away!" So goes the old song.
ReplyDeleteAnd so does King Charles! (As I recall reading...avid gardener that he is, communicating with his plants!)
Deleteand they still haven't locked him up!
