Yes I agree, I always thought they look so simple but that's not truth. But with adding some figurative elements it gives more room to come up with a nice composition, for me it makes it a bit easier.
Thank you so much Fi, I hadn't noticed the stripes on the tie yet, that's a very happy accident! But I like playing around with the abstracts another week, it gives me a lot of new ideas! What Michael mentioned before 'using the other side of the brain', I think combining abstract with figurative elements feels like using both sides of the brain.
