kandinsky loves color
Wassily Kandinsky played a special role in my art education. The parents of a friend of mine had a Kandinsky print in their living room. I was ten years old, and I'd never seen an abstract before. I was blown away.
I've always thought it's a good exercise for an artist to copy a painting they admire. I'll leave it to you to figure out (if you're interested) which Kandinsky inspired me to make this mixed-media piece: paper, glue, acrylic paint and markers. Kandinsky's eye for composition is a heck of a lot better than mine, so please view this as an homage, not an attempt at an exact copy.

ReplyDeleteThis is a sparkling one Fi, I bet you had a nice time making this one!
ReplyDeleteAgain, it is so good to see you participating and I do hope you are on the mend. Love this. I am not that familiar with his work, I mean I know it, but I am now going to look through my art books and study his handiwork!
ReplyDeleteLively and lovely work Fi.
