Scared But Strong?
So, I don't usually remember my dreams, but I have had a couple in which something horrible is happening (vicious animals are attacking or my daughters are being pursued by one of those scary gangs from the movie "Warriors," that sort of thing), and instead of the old dream where you want to scream but can't, I surprise myself by turning and successfully defending against the creepy threat, kicking some dream ass, as it were. A wonderwoman outfit doesn't really suit me (spandex, now THERE'S a nightmare), so here it is: a slightly-timid-but-willing-to-defend-herself Victorian super heroine. She's got gouache painted arms, so I suppose I've cheated a little...

You go girl! Beautiful collage and a great story behind it. I love that you painted the arms.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I used to be able to control my dreams somewhat, don't know why I can't now.
ReplyDeleteMixed media collage! The gouache painted arms are a lovely touch. Great story and piece.
ReplyDeleteFierce facial expression, black-and-white headdress, glowing-ball weapon: you are indeed a superhero!
ReplyDeleteNot cheating atall - mostly collage so fine and dandy! Top work!
ReplyDeleteVictorious!
