inspired by

Inspired by Colin Johnson ... now if I look at his collages, I'm not even halfway with mine.
But it is such a nice exercise and it makes you study Colin's work even better.
Not easy at all to make a good composition and think about the colors etc.

  1. I like the color tattoo-like stuff on one side, black & whitish on the other. You shouldn't worry about matching Colin Johnson's level of detail: if you look at the sizes of his collages, plus the fact that they are mixed media, it's clear he made all the tiny dots, plus other stuff as well, with a finepoint marker. So pull out your finepoints, Jo, and give it another whirl! =grin= By the way, you have the most weird-ass anatomy books I have ever seen clippings from. I recognize the sternum and the arch of the aorta on the left, but what is that strange concave thing with the red stuff piercing it? Is it even biological?

    1. Yes Fi this is all biological, I think it is a part of the upper-leg. I agree, I found this english study-book on a book-market and I loved all the beautiful colors that were used. Many times in the evenings I just love to cut out these parts and put them in plastic bags, so I can't always see what part it was in the beginnings.
Thanks for your lovely comment Fi.

  3. I agree with Fi and Michael. Not to worry about matching the intensity of a Colin Johnson piece...you made a spectacular one!
