Back in the 60's I thought 1984 was far in the future and 2001 was just a sci-fi dream where obviously everyone would be living on Mars and wearing jet packs ! Seems like things havent changed all that much - that glorious distant future was just an illusion, a fantasy thought up by clever writers and film makers. We are just ape descendents playing dress up. Nice collage!
Thanks Michael. I remember the anticipation & excitement built around 1984 & 2001. I think we've run out of books now. Zager & Evans's song In the Year 2525 comes to mind. We might just get the hang of jet packs by then.
