  1. This is some pretty technical stuff that has just gone over my head...but I did just GOOGLE Pitagoras:

    Pythagoras of Samos (c. 570 B.C.) was a Greek philosopher and mathematician who made significant contributions to astronomy, geometry, music theory, and mathematics. He's best known for the Pythagorean Theorem, which states that in a right triangle, the square of the hypotenuse equals the sum of the squares of the other two sides. The formula is used in construction and to measure space and distance.
