The Stamp Collector
Got this one in under the wire! Had fun sorting through hundreds of postage stamps to pick out green ones. Cannot remember the name of the artist who painted "The Stamp Collector" (not the real name of the portrait).
Lovely! Looks like you had fun sorting the stamps! One of my favourite occupations when I was more of a mail artist - trying to find the unfranked ones to use again!
She does have a haughty look, perfect for this and I do love the jumble of all these green stamps (I am old enough to remember when my mother collected those old C&H green stamps and pasted them into little books, hoping to then turn them in for something free...perhaps this haughty lady is saying she has no need for a give-away...).
Angie, I love your collection and how you assmebled them! The read eyes of the lady are very insistend, as if thes say: "DON´t EVEN THINK ABOUT TOUCHING MY STAMPS!!!!" Puh!
Both gorgeous and delightful—the painted woman goes perfectly with the stamps!
ReplyDeleteThanks Fi. She seems a bit haughty...I was waiting for the right collage to paste her into. Sorry I cannot remember who painted this colorful lady!
