The Moon

Driving home last night I was startled by the moon -- it was huge!!  It is "super moon" time, which means that we are having a full moon at the time when the orbit puts the moon and earth in closest proximity.  So, this week's theme will be....THE MOON...super, or otherwise.

(And, thanks, Sabine, for being our theme leader this last month or two!)

  1. I believe the moon you observed was called "The Wolf Moon".

    According to Wikipedia:

January: Wolf Moon. The first Full Moon of the year is named after howling wolves. In some cultures, it was known as Old Moon, Ice Moon, Snow Moon, and the Moon after Yule. ... The Wolf Moon on the night between 1 and 2 January 2018 is a Supermoon.

  2. Great start in your theme-job, Lynn!
