Huh, a peninsula in Northeast Iceland...Langanes. Never heard of it. Of course, way back when, I was asleep during most of my geography lessons. :) And the Rolex Air King, I also looked that up. Did not know this model is paying tribute to the pioneers of flight. Interesting combination of elements creating an intriguing image (that actually made me learn a thing or two!)
Thank you Angie, yes I'd never heard of Langanes before either, I'd assumed from its name that it was somewhere in France :) Glad you've found it collage-ucational, one more thing, the 'wing' bit was cut out from an ancient print-out from when I was making the artwork for the Ricky Spontane CD 'Hit The Town', twenty years ago! My printer must've been running out of ink, hence the banding, which I kept all this time because it gave the impression of fast movement.
I'm the guitarist.... 'Ricky Spontane' was the name me and a pal shouted out drunkenly to our friend Richard, when he was singing onstage with his old band Spontaneous Cattle Combustion, something he remembered when he formed a new band, which I then joined! :)
Ah ha! I looked up a video of Ricky Spontane (My Favourite Restaurant -- good song!) and that must be you, on the sofa, playing your guitar? Nice to see you.
Nice work and colours with the touches of green and red. The banding is great. I do like those effects when my printer ink runs out sometimes. Cool artwork for "Hit The Town" CD too Steve!
Thank you Ron, and yes printer-banding is great isn't it, that's when the freakier stuff comes out, and once, my old printer started printing out pages of error-code junk, characters I'd never seen before... kept those print-outs too, for a while, until I found a use for them!

Oh wow...I looked up the cover art for "Hit the Town" and sure enough. So...your last name and Ricky's last name??? Related???

Ha ha! Yes that is me, but 22 years ago! And miming to the only bit of guitar that I _don't_ play on that song! :)
DeleteYou look so relaxed and you could have fooled me!
DeleteExcellent! Those poor polar bears look like they are having a tough time even back then!
ReplyDeleteYes, just like in An Inconvenient Truth, with all the ice breaking up – And to make matters worse, some of them are fighting each other too!
