On a musical note, one of Burt Bacharach's earliest hits was the song for the 1958 movie The Blob which starred a young Steve McQueen in his first leading role.
Music & Lyrics by Bacharach/Hal David/Mac David
Recorded by The Five Blobs
"Beware of the blob, it creeps
And leaps and glides and slides
Across the floor
Right through the door
And all around the wall
A splotch, a blotch
Be careful of the blob"
And leaps and glides and slides
Across the floor
Right through the door
And all around the wall
A splotch, a blotch
Be careful of the blob"
You can find the movie on you tube!
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought you were joking but it's the real 'Blob' song, how funny!

Your blob doesn't frighten me yet, but in the movie it also starts friendly ......
Thanks for the link, Josephine!
DeleteOne of my favourite Steve McQueen films! Great collage and nice to see the lyrics. I think I have the song on a comp. cassette somewhere.
ReplyDeleteThis could have been a great movie poster! Haven´t heard about this movie ever.
ReplyDeleteThanks all. I remember this movie turning up one Sunday afternoon many moons ago. The crazy theme song was hilarious. I saw Burt Bacharach live a couple of years ago and he played it live for a laugh.
ReplyDeleteGreat graphic Ron! I have to listen to that song. Bacharach is one of my favorite movie score composers! Next to Henry Mancini that is.
ReplyDeleteThanks Angie. Love Mancini too. The Pink Panther theme and The Party.
