I think the treatment for shock is counterproductive...when Mr. Catatonic realizes his bed is precariously tilted backwards on books and there is a huge slimy fish staring him in the face (or eventually in bed with him!) I do believe he is going to be seriously burned...When he tries to flee and crashes into the Hot Sweetened Suncrush!
