Background is a painting "Untitled", 1971 by Sam Francis (1923-1994)*
Snowy Owl courtesy of a book about birds.
Brooch and clothing from J. Peterman catalogues.
* the painting is an acrylic on canvas, 108 x 80 inches, and is pretty much all white with jagged black lines around the edges
Nice! Lovely fabrics. That's an impressive-looking snowy owl, although he does look like he's stuffed. =laugh= My late great mother-in-law's pagan name was White Owl, because she was small and wise and pale, and because her hair had gone snow-white by the time she was 50. So I always think of her when I see pictures of snowy owls.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Fi. This was fun to make. I love our challenges as they prompt me to create an image I would never have thought of! By the way, that Snowy Owl is an illustration, but I do agree he looks taxidermied!
DeleteGreat stuff... This, like Fi's earlier collage, somehow seems very timely this week, as if the Snowy Owl, with all its wisdom, is a kind of sentry, standing guard over the beginning of the New Year with its talsimanic brooch...
DeleteGood analysis Steve!
