Thiis is beautiful, Angie, and admirably executed!
I want to say something personal to you guys. This particular theme is very near and dear to me because Edgar Poe (he hated the "Allan" part, his stingy asshole of a stepfather's name, and never used it) is my all-time-favorite writer. I had hoped I would be able to make a collage (or multiple collages) more in keeping with the theme, but it just wasn't in the cards. We had a sudden death, a few weeks ago, in our immediate family, my beloved male oriental shorthair cat, and my grief has been just crushing the life out of me. I'm doing better now, and Bob & I are all excited because this coming weekend we'll be bringing two new kittens into the house to be companions not just for us, but also for our bereaved adult female, sister & littermate of the one that died. There's lots to do to get ready, and planning of the various interactions of these kittens with strange humans and a strange cat. So we're very busy... Anyway, sorry not to be more on the ball....
I just wanted to add that in your collage, Angie, I really like the way you have the moon going off the edge on the side amd the woman going off the edge on the other side. It adds a lot to the disquieting mood of the piece.
Thanks everyone! I thought the use of a bronze statue and metal doorstop were pretty creepy too. :)
And Fi, I am very very very sorry for your loss. I hope the new kittens ease the pain and please let us know their names as soon as you and Bob determine them. Peace.

ReplyDeleteI like the dark vibe of your collage, Angie - and Mister Poe probably would have loved it, too!
ReplyDeleteLove your composition Angie, well done!
