  1. I'm loving your mountains, Sabine! That is one eerie-looking girl. I hope you won't mind if I ask you to give away a secret: how in the world did you get that delicate hat/veil on top of the girl's face? Image transfer? Or scissors? (!!)

  2. No problem Fi: I cut it with my scalpel - and it took me a while ;-)
    Thank you Fi!

    1. And then you must have had more hard work, glueing down all those slender pieces. Great work! And by the way, I love how the horizon line is so sharply slanted...

    2. I used spray adhesive - it was too fragile to use a glue stick.
      Thanks again, Fi!

    3. What a coincidence! I just bought a can of spray adhesive on a whim, but I hadn't yet figured out what to use it for. Things that are fragile....that makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the tip, Sabine! I think we should trade info on techniques more often on this blog!

    4. I read all of the above with GREAT interest. You can bet I have ruined a collage element with a glue stick more than once. Never thought of spray adhesive. I have a friend who used to spray paint small wood ornaments and he devised a technique for doing so without getting the paint everywhere. Take a cardboard box and strap it shut. Cut a hole that allows your hand holding the spray can to fit and then place the piece to be sprayed face down into the box and reach in with the can and spray away. This is effective for working indoors. Helps the vapors to stay enclosed.

  3. And now I will comment on this expressive, nicely executed collage. Beautiful work Sabine! (I am of Czech and Slovak descent so I am especially enamored of it!)
